Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Smart Calendar AI app and the smartcalendarai.com website collect, how that information is used and the choices you have. Smart Calendar AI is created and operated by ML Chua.
In short: Smart Calendar AI uses your information only to run the app for you. Your personal information is never sold and never used for advertising.
Information you provide
- Account details: your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored only in a protected (hashed) form that cannot be read back.
- Sign in with Google: your name, email address and profile photo from your Google account.
- Reminders: titles, dates, times, notes, alarm settings and any files you attach.
- Profile photo: if you choose to add one.
- Messages: anything you send through the Contact page, including your name and email address.
Voice, photos and documents
- Speaking a reminder: your phone's own speech service turns your voice into text. Smart Calendar AI receives that text and uses it to create your reminder.
- Photos and documents: when you upload a photo or document to create a reminder, Smart Calendar AI reads the text in it for that purpose.
- Understanding your request: the text of your request is sent to a trusted AI language service along with the current date, time and your time zone, so the title, date, time and alarm can be worked out. Only the content needed for that reminder is sent.
- My words: the corrections you make to misheard words are saved to your account so Smart Calendar AI can apply them next time. You can view, edit or clear them at any time in Settings.
Information collected automatically
- Device details: a device name and device identifier, used to manage which phones are signed in to your account and to apply your plan's device limit.
- Notification token: lets Smart Calendar AI deliver your reminder alerts to your phone.
- Time zone: so every reminder rings at the right local time.
- Usage counts: how many AI voice and document reminders you have used each month, to show and apply your plan's allowance.
- Website visits: the smartcalendarai.com website may use Google Analytics to understand visits in summary form, such as which pages are popular.
Google Calendar
If you choose to connect Google Calendar, Smart Calendar AI asks for read-only access so your Google Calendar events can appear next to your reminders. Your Google Calendar stays exactly as it is and you can disconnect it at any time.
Smart Calendar AI's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Subscriptions and payments
Premium subscriptions are bought and billed through Google Play. Your payment details stay with Google Play. A subscription management service receives your Smart Calendar AI account ID and purchase records so your Premium status can be confirmed on every phone you use.
How information is used
- To create, store and show your reminders and send their alarms.
- To keep your account, settings and My words list in sync across your phones.
- To provide your plan's features and allowances.
- To keep accounts secure and prevent misuse.
- To reply to your messages and support requests.
- To keep Smart Calendar AI reliable and improve how well it understands requests.
Service providers
Smart Calendar AI works with a small number of trusted providers. Each one receives only the information it needs for its task:
- Secure server hosting for the app and website.
- Cloud file storage for profile photos and attached files.
- Google services for sign-in, Google Calendar, notifications and Google Play billing.
- An AI language service to understand reminder requests.
- A subscription management service to confirm Premium status.
- An email service to deliver messages from the Contact page.
Storage and security
Information travels over encrypted connections and is stored on secured servers with restricted access. Passwords are stored only in protected form. No system can promise perfect security, so Smart Calendar AI also gives you control: you can sign out other phones at any time from the app.
How long information is kept
Your information is kept for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your account details, reminders, My words list and uploaded files are deleted within 30 days. Records that must be kept for legal, tax or billing reasons are kept only for as long as required.
Your choices and rights
- View and update: edit your name and profile photo in the app at any time.
- My words: view, edit or clear them in Settings under My words.
- Google Calendar: disconnect it whenever you like.
- Notifications: manage them in your phone's settings.
- Request a copy: ask for a copy of the personal information held about you through the Contact page.
- Delete your account: see the next section.
Delete your account
To delete your Smart Calendar AI account and its data:
- Open the Contact page and choose Delete my account.
- Send the request from the email address you use for Smart Calendar AI.
- Smart Calendar AI confirms by email and deletes your account and its data within 30 days.
If you have Premium, please cancel it in Google Play first, since Google Play manages billing separately from your account.
Children
Smart Calendar AI is designed for people aged 13 and over. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please get in touch through the Contact page and the account will be removed.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as Smart Calendar AI grows. The date at the top of this page always shows the latest version. Important changes are also announced in the app.
